This hidden treasure is situated on a quiet street, very central to town and with easy access.   The complex comprises of a modern 5 unit motel and a wonderful 1920's Lodge, which compliment each other perfectly and offer a variety of accommodation options.
  

The motel features 2 studio and 3 x 1-bedroom units. All have a spacious, homely feel to them and 4 units open onto a sheltered courtyard with outdoor seating, green green grass and cottage gardens - perfect for enjoying the Taranaki sunshine.  We get many a comment passed on our 'attention to detail' and we pride ourselves on offering lovely clean, welcoming units, all with fully equipped kitchens, Sky TV, electric blankets and heating. Continental breakfasts are also available on request and there is off-street parking available to motel guests.

However,   if you enjoy the company of people from around the world, and a lovely clean bed at a very reasonable price, then the Backpacker Lodge right next door may be the place for you!!    We cater for the true traveler, both local and international - and all of us here just love to share our knowledge of New Plymouth and Taranaki with you.

Our 1920's 2 story Backpacker Lodge always has a warm welcome waiting for you. It has a very spacious dining/living area with a cosy log fire, a warm quiet sunroom, just perfect for enjoying a good book or a snooze in the sun.   Outside there are two sunny decks, great for a leisurely lunch or to cook up a storm on the BBQ provided.

We offer FREE on-street parking, Sky TV, 24 hour email/internet, a sauna and laundry.  There is a free phone for local calls and ample storage. The sauna, laundry and email/internet facilities are available to both motel guests and backpackers.

This really is the perfect place to stay when visiting Taranaki.    It is a 5 minute walk to Pukekura Park, TSB Stadium, racecourse, polytechnic, city centre. 15-minute drive to the airport and Mt Egmont.

Climb Mt Egmont or surf one of the many beaches. Walk the 7km coastal walkway or the Huatoki and Te Henui walks.   Fantastic parks/gardens.
